The voice is the only instrument you can’t put down. We teach breath, support, range and repertoire — classical, musical theatre, contemporary — alongside ear training and stagecraft. Vocal lessons pair beautifully with piano for adult students returning to music.
Your voice is the one instrument you already own — and the only one you can’t trade in, which is why training it properly matters. Singing well is physical, technical work: breath, support, range, and the ear to place a note precisely. All of it can be taught, and all of it improves with the right teacher.
Our vocal students range from eight-year-olds finding their first stage confidence to adults who always sang and finally want to do it well. Repertoire runs from classical through musical theatre to contemporary, with ear training and stagecraft woven through the lessons.
Vocal lessons are one-to-one and weekly — a format that matters even more for singers than instrumentalists, because every voice is different and the technique must be fitted to yours. Lessons balance technical work with repertoire you actually want to sing.
Start with a trial lesson at Pandan Indah or Damai Perdana. You will sing — properly, guided — within the first session, and leave knowing how a trained teacher hears your voice. Vocal study also pairs beautifully with piano for adults returning to music.
A singer’s teacher is their outside ear — the person who hears what you cannot hear from inside your own head and knows how to fix it kindly.
The faculty behind every program is the same: 20 teachers, every one holding at minimum a music degree, several with Master’s qualifications — led by founder Kuan Jea Yi, a Universiti Malaya music graduate with a Master of Performing Arts, now pursuing her PhD at the same university.

Singers need a stage as much as a studio — and the academy’s calendar guarantees one.
Every three months students perform — at the academy and at external venues — and every performer receives a VEMA Certificate of Completion.

Young voices are still developing, so we start singers at eight — old enough for healthy technique to be built carefully, with repertoire chosen to suit a young voice rather than strain it. There is no upper age limit.

Yes. Complete beginners are welcome at any age, and many of our adult students arrive exactly this way. Breath, support, pitch and range are trainable skills, not talents you either have or don’t.
